Hello! I’m what we dusty old millennials refer to as a “multi-hyphenate” in the digital space: an arts writer, content creator, and social media strategist. 

As an arts writer, I cover creative movements and culture, informed by discourse around intersectionality and feminism. I’m especially interested in how diverse entrepreneurs find and make community, and in telling stories of audacious transformation: how does a nuclear mechanic become a winemaker, or a yoga teacher become a wellness entrepreneur empowering womxn of color?

Though I love writing profiles, my true passion resides in creative non-fiction; I have a particular fascination with relationships in all forms: friends, family, significant others, and even strangers. In my newsletter The Vessel, I share personal stories of relationships gone awry, making new friends as a thirty-something, and attempting joint custody of my dog with an ex. Last year I wrote a Modern Love essay about a doomed love story with a former professor.  And given my own cultural background as a Mexican-Israeli-American, I’m fascinated by the stories of children of immigrants; how we make our way and find ourselves through nostalgia and subculture. 

After graduating from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in English, I took the leap and moved to the big city of Sacramento where, for a decade, I built and managed social media strategies for travel tourism destinations, wineries and – weirdly – smart ovens. 

Last year, my 8-year style blog evaporated in a server crash, so I’m starting fresh with this website. You can also find me on Instagram where I share my personal style diary and highlight ethical fashion and beauty brands. 

When I’m not profiling creatives, photographing what inspires me, or writing my newsletter, you can bet I’m having a solo dance party in my oft-documented living room.
